AlleyOOP DoubleBounce Trampoline Review

Featuring fantastic safety features and brilliant bounce, the AlleyOOP DoubleBounce trampoline represents good value for money. As with the VariableBounce, your body will thank you for it – the only difference is that here the double mat design acts as a shock absorber to reduce the impact on joints and muscles.

Like the VariableBounce, the DoubleBounce trampoline has been designed reduce injury and impact on the body, instead giving a comfortable jumping experience. AlleyOOP have achieved this by using two jumping mats which are separated by a layer of air. The air acts as padding, absorbing much of the shock and impact, so it’s a lot easier on your joints.

It’s true that the jumping mat is very comfortable to use, but I was worried that this would come at the expense of the bounce. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the jump was just as good as the VariableBounce. If added height is a priority for you, the manufacturers do have the option of the Power DoubleBounce which incorporates an extra layer of springs, but I expect you’ll only need that if you’re a serious gymnast.

The design of this trampoline is just about the safest that I’ve come across, proving that the old adage that ‘you get what you pay for’ is true. The springs are entirely covered by thick, durable padding, so there’s no risk of trapping little fingers. Furthermore, the enclosure net sits inside the springs, so you won’t be able to land awkwardly or dangerously on the springs.

The tough safety net is fitted in an octagonal shape around the jumping mat, which is safer than round safety nets. The net also features an inbuilt doorway which overlaps itself, meaning that there’s no risk of accidentally falling out. It isn’t as easy a doorway to exit as those with zipper pulls and clips, so take care when climbing on and off the jumping mat.

Assembly was a little complicated, and it took me a good few hours – even with the help of another adult – but this isn’t unexpected with a trampoline of this quality. The most fiddly part is attaching the net correctly, but AlleyOOP have produced online videos to make things easier, so do make use of those to save yourself a lot of hassle.

However, once you’re done you’ll be left with a seriously sturdy, excellent quality trampoline which is impossible to tip over and which gives a safe, impressive bounce experience.
